Rath Yatra, the Festival of Chariots of Lord Jagannatha is celebrated every year at Puri, India. The presiding Lord Jagannatha, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, with Sudarshana Chakra are taken out from the temple precincts in an elaborate ritual procession to, their respective chariots.

Srila Prabhupada introduced Lord Jagannatha to the Western world and also inaugurated the Rath Yatra ceremony, in Kolkata in 1972.Celebrated each year without fail, thousands of people file the streets of Kolkata to throng around the chariot and have a pull at it.

This year a group of 85 devotees from ISKCON Dhanbad took part in world's second largest rath yatra, Kolkata Rath Yatra, first being the rath yatra of Puri. All devotees very enthusiatically took part in pulling rathas of Lord Jagganath, Baldev and Subhadra Maharani, and in ecstatic Harinaam Sankirtan. The ratha left the temple premises at Albert Road to wind around the city until it reached the Brigade Parade Ground.
